Hartog Senior is specially designed for horses with specific dietary needs, such as seniors, horses with reduced chewing ability, and horses in rehabilitation. Hartog Senior is a highly palatable and soft forage mix that, when fed in its entirety, can replace both roughage and concentrates. Additionally, Hartog Senior has a low sugar and starch content and is free from grains and molasses.

This softly chopped forage mix is enriched with a balancer specially formulated to meet the needs of older horses. The balancer is rich in easily digestible high-quality proteins and provides horses with all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. Hartog Senior contains organically bound trace elements.

Does my horse no longer need a vitamin/mineral pellet alongside this feed?
It depends on the amount of Senior you are feeding. Hartog Senior can replace your horse's entire ration. A balancer has been added to Hartog Senior, so your vitamin and mineral pellet is already included! If you offer Hartog Senior as a complete ration, you don't need to feed anything else alongside it, no concentrates, and no forage.
My horse has difficulty chewing, will he be able to eat this?
Hartog Senior has been specially developed for older horses with severe dental problems. Hartog Senior is our softest forage mix. As a result, many horses with dental issues can still consume Hartog Senior quite well.
Can I feed Hartog Senior without restrictions?
Yes, absolutely! This is ideal for older horses with dental problems who have difficulty maintaining their weight.
