The organisation

Grasdrogerij Hartog B.V., founded in 1950, is a producer of high-quality roughage for horses, poultry, cattle and pigs. In 2017, the company was taken over and set a new course; respecting its long history, Hartog aims to grow further.

Our ambition: to become the number one brand of horse roughage in Europe.

The main activity of Grasdrogerij Hartog B.V. involves in-season drying of lucerne and grass. The dried product is processed into large bales and chunks. From the intermediate storage facility, these products are processed throughout the year into premium branded roughage for horses, poultry and other animals. The products are sold worldwide.

The job

As a Grass Dryer at Hartog you will have several duties, these also depend on the period of the year. In the summer months, you control the crop drying process in the factory. In the other months, you will operate packing machines, chunk presses or help with maintenance. Your duties include:

  • Operating the drying equipment and monitoring the drying process
  • Regular maintenance of drying equipment
  • Quality control of dried products
  • Operating packaging and kibble press machines
  • Regular maintenance of packing and kibble press equipment
  • Identify and resolve minor malfunctions or technical problems
  • Ensure that all work is carried out according to applicable safety guidelines and report any safety hazards
  • Maintain documentation relating to machine performance and production output
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g. shovel, forklift)

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven colleague with North Holland sobriety! You have a passion for monitoring production processes and ensuring the production of high-quality dried grass and alfalfa that meets the organisation’s specifications and quality standards. You can switch quickly and make sure the process runs smoothly. You enjoy being active during your work, after the end of your shift you do a handover with the colleague. We are looking for someone who enjoys challenges and making the organisation grow, further:

  • You have (basic) technical knowledge of machine operation and maintenance
  • You have experience in a production environment
  • You are eager to learn and result-oriented
  • You are proactive and flexible
  • You are a team player, but can also work well independently
  • You are looking for long-term cooperation
  • You are stress-resistant and like to roll up your sleeves
  • You speak at least Dutch or English
