Final of KNHS-Hartog Competition concluded brilliantly

Wednesday, 20th March 2024

Last weekend was all about show jumping and young talent at the final of the Hartog Competition at the KNHS centre. The competition, consisting of both the KNHS-Hartog Riding Style Competition and the KNHS-Hartog Topsport Competition, gave youth riders the chance to compete in the spotlight.

KNHS Hartog Top Sports Competition

In the KNHS-Hartog Topsport competition, Lieselot Kooremans, Stella Heijligers and Robin Windstra proved to be too quick for their competitors. Lieselot dominated in the ponies with an impressive first (with Vertige de Belebat) and second place (with Elando van de Roshoeve) in the final results. Stella showed her talent in the Children, also with a first (with Icreative’s Jiske V van de Doornhoeve) and second position (with Circee de la Haye). Robin Windstra took victory in the Juniors with his horse W&W’s Agostino Z.

KNHS-Hartog Riding Style Competition

In the KNHS-Hartog Riding Style Competition, the podium was dominated by Emma Heijligers, as well as Willem Schaap and Ella Wolleswinkel. Emma and Ella went home with not only the competition title, but also the daily prize.

Emma Heijligers came first in the ponies with her pony Pretty Little Dandelion. In second place was Jezebel Visser and third position was claimed by Cindy Kosse. In the Children, it was Maurie Slagman with Hailey Fairy who can call herself the winner of the KNHS-Hartog Riding Style Competition 2024. She was followed by Tyara Verheijen with Werra. In addition, Ella Wolleswinkel was the undisputed winner of the Juniors. She was awarded first prize with her horse Mybella.

The competitions were marked by extraordinary riding talent and outstanding performances. “We have seen very nice rides,” said Edwin Hoogenraat, one of the youth team coaches. He and his colleagues judged the riders. The competition offered not only a chance to shine, but also to gain valuable experience.

The tension was palpable during the finals, especially among the pony riders, with nerves playing a role at times. Nevertheless, wonderful rounds were ridden and the judges appreciated the technical skills and style of the participants.

We look forward to the 2025 competition, which will start again in January!
